Teachers

PRINCIPAL –Mrs. Mary Kobel- (mkobel@cdeducation.org)  

Mrs. Kobel received her undergraduate degree from Walsh University in Sociology.  She worked for 10+ years as a social worker in Coshocton.  Mrs. Kobel received her Master’s Degree in Education from Muskingum University in 2007.   She is certified in preschool through third grade with her reading endorsement. Mrs. Kobel obtained her Master’s Degree in Elementary Administration from Concordia University.   She has worked for thirteen years at Sacred Heart School, and three years as principal.  She has taught at the first and second grade levels during her years as a teacher.  Mrs. Kobel’s older daughters, Emily and Sophia, both attended Sacred Heart School from kindergarten through sixth grade.  Her youngest daughter, Bridget, is now in seventh grade at Sacred Heart.  Mrs. Kobel herself attended Sacred Heart School through 8th grade, as did her 6 brothers and 1 sister.  Her mother attended through her junior year when the high school closed, as well as her grandmother.  She and her husband own Kobel’s Landscaping and Nursery. She is an active member of Sacred Heart Parish.

KINDERGARTEN – Miss Hannah Michael                                                              Hello,  I am Miss Michael. I teach kindergarten  at Sacred Heart. I graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and my teaching license. Along with teaching, I am an assistant coach for the varsity girls’ soccer team at Coshocton High School. I am excited to be teaching here at Sacred Heart!

FIRST GRADE – Mrs. Britanie Powers                                                                   Hello, I am Mrs. Powers, the teacher for first grade at Sacred Heart.  I graduated with my bachelors in Early Childhood Education from Ohio University in 2017 and received my reading endorsement through Muskingum University in August of 2017.  Teaching has been a passion of mine since an early age.  I believe it is important to have religion in the classroom.  During my free time, I enjoy running with my dog, Ruger, and spending time in the woods.  I am thankful and blessed to be teaching here at Sacred Heart School.

SECOND GRADE –Miss Ursula Fusner                                                                    Hello, I am Miss Fusner,  the teacher for second grade at Sacred Heart School. I have grown up in the Catholic school system. I went to St. Nicholas Elementary and Bishop Rosecrans High School, both located in Zanesville. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Ohio University in 2007. This will be my twelfth year teaching. I have taught primarily preschool and kindergarten for most of my teaching career. I am looking forward to returning to my roots in Catholic education as a kindergarten teacher this year.

SIXTH & SEVENTH GRADES – Mrs Fouts                                                        Hello, I am Mrs. Fouts, the sixth/seventh grade teacher at Sacred Heart. I have my Master of Arts in Teaching and Intervention Specialist Mild.  I earned my degree from Muskingum University.  Prior to teaching, I worked as a paraprofessional.  I also was the Director of Christian Education in my hometown of Beaver Falls.  I am currently  a member of The Presbyterian Church of Coshocton. I am looking forward to my second year teaching at Sacred Heart.
